POLICIES

Please read the following for information regarding our policies.

CUSTOM BUILDS

​Applebite Guitars™ (also referred to here as “Applebite”) reserves the right to refuse requests for custom projects for any reason at our sole discretion.  We want you to work with someone who is passionate about your project.  â€‹

At Applebite we both expect to receive and give respect. This process should be fun and exciting for everyone involved. We will not work with any customers who we deem to become hostile. If at any point a customer is deemed to be hostile, the customer agrees to forfeit all funds already paid to Applebite and the relationship shall be dissolved. 

​

A customer may choose to back out of a deal at any time, but in so doing shall forfeit all money paid up to that point, including deposits. All materials, supplies, and products bought or created by Applebite for the project become the property of ​Applebite Guitars™.

​

Finished guitars will be checked thoroughly prior to shipping to the customer to make sure they are at the highest standard, unless otherwise noted.  That includes setting up action, making sure pickups work, filing down fret ends, etc.  

​

Periodically we will send photo updates to the customer via email.  Due to variances on receiving and sourcing some materials, we cannot guarantee a timeline for updates or finished products.  However, we will do our best to keep the customer informed (for example, when we are waiting for a part) and will update the customer on the project's progress.  

​

Any changes to orders requested after the specifications and requirements have been agreed upon by both parties will be accepted at our discretion and could be subject to additional charges depending on the nature of the changes requested. Requests to change orders must be made in writing. Applebite will inform the customer in writing of any changes to the price.

PAYMENTS

A NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT for the full price of materials is due before ANY work is started on a project.

All payments should be made via the pay link on our website.  We will never request money to be paid directly through our email, or any of our social media sites, or in pay apps such as Zelle.  Please do not send payment info such as credit card numbers through email.  

SHIPPING & returns

​All instruments are sold AS IS. We do not accept returns.

​

​All guitars are shipped in a hardshell case, and packed with care.  Strings are not in tune to reduce any tension on the neck during shipping. Please tune your instrument upon receipt.

​

Applebite ships within the U.S. only. The customer must have a U.S.-based physical address where they are able to receive their order. Applebite is not able to ship to P.O. Boxes.

​

Applebite is not responsible for damages of any kind caused by our instruments.  We proceed with the assumption that a customer knows how to use an instrument appropriately and to prevent injury.  

​

Damages that occur after the customer has taken possession of the instrument are the responsibility of the customer. The customer is responsible for requesting fixes from their local luthier. 

COMMUNICATIONS

Applebite will communicate directly with the customer via email ONLY. We do not communicate via telephone. By working with us and requesting a project, the customer agrees to communicate via email, and to respond in a timely fashion to our communications with them. Applebite reserves the right to cancel a project if the customer becomes uncommunicative.

MARKETING & PERMISSIONS

Applebite reserves the right to post photos and videos (including work-in-progress and finished) of the customer's project on our website and any social media affiliated with Applebite. By requesting a project, customer grants Applebite permission to do so.

Applebite is happy to tag the customer and/or the customer's band in photos on these social media posts, if requested. Otherwise, we will keep your social media handles and information private and will not share this information unless granted permission by the customer.

PRIVACY

Applebite Guitars only collects information that the customer voluntarily provides to us for the sole purpose of conducting busienss. We will not sell, rent, or distribute this information to anyone, except under circumstances required by law.

Applebite will use customer information to communicate with the customer, fulfill requests (for example, to ship an instrument to the customer), and to conduct business such as collecting payments.

​

The customer is advised that their payment information will be collected through a third-party payment processor. The customer is advised to consult that third-party's privacy policies separately.

MISC.

​Applebite Guitars™ is not liable for any failures or delays in delivery of orders where that failure or delay results from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: power failure, internet service provider failure, strikes or other action by third parties, fire, flood, storms natural disasters, or any other events beyond our reasonable control. In such an event, Applebite will contact the customer as soon as reasonably possible to inform them of any delays, providing new details as necessary.

We do not discuss politics.  Everyone has a right to their opinion and freedom of speech is important, however, we are not concerned with the political opinion of customers.  Applebite reserves the right to refuse politically-influenced projects at our sole discretion.

​

At Applebite we are first and foremost artists, and part of the artistic community.  We will not take someone else’s property and use it without their consent. The customer must prove that they have permission to use any artwork that they send to us for use in a project. While we do appreciate references, we will not directly copy anything without the proper rights and permissions.

​

This policy also applies to Artificial Intelligence (AI) artwork, as we view the “sampling” that AI does from artists without their permission to be unethical. If we receive AI-generated artwork from the customer, we will notify the customer either with a request to choose new, non-AI-generated artwork, or will notify the customer that we are not comfortable working on the project. If a project is cancelled for any reason, by the customer or by Applebite Guitars, the customer forfeits all funds paid up until that point.
